Session Descriptions

Stacy Zapar

Stacy's Slip-ups: Sourcing Lessons Learned the Hard Way

As recruiters, direct sourcing is a big part of our job. Targeting passive candidates is a tricky process and we’re always experimenting with creative ways to find the right talent and reach out in a way that gets them to respond. Sometimes that trial and error process works and other times, well, it blows up in our faces! Along the way, we’ve all made those missteps.

What are some of the biggest and most common mistakes we make as sourcers and what lessons can we learn from those snafus?

In this session (which was the #1 rated session at LinkedIn Talent Connect this year!), attendees will learn:

  • How to avoid common sourcing slip-ups we’ve all made and how to turn them into important learning moments
  • What should we be doing instead to drive engagement from direct-sourced candidates
  • Knowledge of the tips, tricks, tools, and strategies that work best
  • Effective sourcing practices that ensure you get the most out of your sourcing efforts while building your recruiter / employer brand along the way.

5 Ways AI Will Enable Recruiting to be More Human, Not Less

Are you ready for an automated world? When we hear about artificial intelligence technologies, we inevitably get into fear-based conversations about job replacement due to automation. But the truth is, AI can actually enable us to be even more human in the workplace, not less. In this webinar presented by Ben Eubanks, Principal Analyst at Lighthouse Research and author of the book Artificial Intelligence for HR (Kogan Page), attendees will learn about the basic elements of AI and how they work, the practical uses for solving recruiting challenges like candidate sourcing and matching, and the critical skills necessary to succeed in an increasingly automated workplace.

Research from a variety of experiments shows that the best approach isn't purely human or purely machine, but a blend of the two. Leveraging more than a year's worth of research into how companies are utilizing automation technology to reduce administrative burden and improve productivity, attendees will learn about the adoption of bots, machine learning-powered algorithms, and other tools to support business needs. It's time to go beyond theory and explore the practical side of what AI has to offer.

Attendees will learn:

  • A broad understanding of the AI-enabled technology landscape for screening, hiring, and onboarding today's workforce
  • Key skills necessary to survive and excel in an automated workplace
  • Examples of research demonstrating the right blend of human and machine decision-making
